NEW DELHI: Acting on a criticism lodged by the country’s most decorated gymnast Ashish Kumar on partiality at staff collection trials, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has sought a report on the difficulty from the Gymnastics Federation of India (GFI).
The SAI claimed, if essential, it will start a probe into the subject.
In a letter written to GFI president Sudhir Mittal, a copy of which was marked to SAI, Kumar said he “confronted injustice” at the assortment trials held involving March 11-22 .
“Indian Gymnast Ashish Kumar in a criticism to the Gymnastics Federation of India has alleged that he confronted partiality at the trials held in between March 11 to March 22 for range of the staff for Commonwealth Online games.
“The gymnast has also despatched a duplicate of his criticism to the Sports activities Authority of India (SAI). Using up the make any difference right away, SAI has sought a report from GFI on the issue,” the SAI mentioned in a assertion on Saturday.
“Following the submission of report by GFI, SAI will set up an enquiry committee to probe more into the subject, if essential,” it included.
In the letter, the Arjuna Awardee Kumar reported that despite finishing fifth in the all-close to rankings, he was not picked, but gymnasts ending “below me (7th and 8th) ended up included in the staff”.
